{Mixed Media Tutorial} Playing with Mediums

Hello and welcome! Ina here with the first of three Mixed Media Tutorials showcasing products available at the STAMPlorations store  and using some of my favourite products and elements.

Unfortunately my first photo didn't show enough of the Fairy Tale Forest stencil. It was stenciled with
Liquitex Ultra Mat Gel on Canson 140lb watercolor paper. You can see it better below after I coloured with Art Alchemy Metallic Paints in Emerald Green and Brass Hardware.

I then added a second layer with Dots All Over heat embossed with Stampendous Aged Copper and some Art Alchemy Rich Copper Wax.

Next came layers with wire, lace, cheesecloth and heated crinkled ribbon.

I then cut out a small die from the Curly Labels Tags-Nesting Dies with metallic paper and sponged with the Art Alchemy Rich Copper Wax.

I then cut out the Flutter Zen 2 layering dies with the same paper, heat embossing with Stampendous Aged Copper and again with Little Birdie Embossing Texture Paste which puffs up when heated.

This was attached to the popped tag and finished off with a few pearls. Sentiment is heat embossed from Trendy Butterflies 2.

Added some pebbles and attached to a deeper metallic paper. Lightly distressed the edges and added more waxes around the edges with the Rich Copper and Peacock. Those of you that have used the Finnabair Waxes know how they smell divine.

As such this isn't a tutorial on a specific technique, just showing how you can add just about anything
of your choice using different mediums/layers. I find Mixed Media relaxing and don't mind inky fingers and my favourite crafty pastime.

Hope you have enjoyed looking at how my Mixed Media Project transpired and maybe give it a go sometime. It really is fun! I will be back next month with another project  to share with you.
See you then!
