{Stencil Sunday} Partial Stenciled Backgrounds by Helen

Happy Sunday, STAMPlorations friends! We have a new batch of stencil inspiration today. You'll get to see projects that show off how to creatively use ARTplorations stencils. And each month, we'll pick one winner of a $15 gift code -- the winner will be drawn from all comments left on the Stencil Sunday posts for the month, as well as from the designers' blogs.

STAMPgirl Helen shares some ideas on how to use stencils partially to create fun backgrounds.

Have a look at Helen's projects:

On this first card, I used the Crisscrossed stencil with silver texture paste. After the stenciled panel dried, I die cut it with the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies. The framed flower and sentiment are from Faith Expressions.

On the second card, I created the partial stenciled background using stamping with stencil technique. Stencil I used was the Nestled Circles stencil, the flower and sentiment are from Blossom Overture.

***

On this third card, I used the Leaf Prints stencil for the background. I sprayed some art spray paint over the stencil and dabbed some of with paper towel. Then I cut it with the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies. The stamp set I used is from Faith Expressions.

On the fourth card, I used the Dream Flower stencil on a watercolored backgroud, After that, I die cut it with the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies. I used the Anywhere There’s Coffee and the Mixed Media Elements stamp sets.

Those backgrounds sure are stunning! For a chance to win a $15 gift code to the STAMPlorations store, leave a comment here by May 8. We'll announce the winner in the April winners post on May 10.

  10. I have been doing some partial stenciling lately, too. I used to always use the entire stencil, but sometimes it just looks cool to use part. Thank you for the inspiration. I like to learn about different ways to use my stencils. These background look great--the colors look wonderful with the designs.

I confess, don't have much experience using stencils, definitely need to work more with them as they make for wonderful backgrounds and focal points too :)

  17. Beautiful cards. It's also nice to see a sympathy card featured, because I find those very difficult to create.
