Hello STAMPlorations Friends! It's Monika back with another Spotlight feature. Today I went for the simplicity of a monochromatic look using just one ink colour in combination with the
Bloom Succulently stencil and a stamped sentiment from Deepti's
Tweet Love set.
Here is today's card:
I made the original card without taking photos hence I recreated the steps using Olive Green SU ink (the original card was made using Rose Red SU ink) and a slightly different stencil alignment.
After my supplies were gathered I made sure that my stencil was securely taped down.
I lightly inked up one of my shaving brushes and started blending the ink from the center of the succulent 'flower' outwards working my way around the 'flower'. Starting the sweeping brush motion in the center makes it easy to create a focal point with a darker more concentrated shade of colour in the center.
Next I stamped my sentiment. Instead of one large sentiment I used a small one and created a little cluster. It's a fun way of creating movement and interest with small sentiments.
My original card features a large cluster of little pearls. To finish my olive green card off I added a few matching sequins.
Here are the STAMPlorations products I used in today's card:
