{Spotlight Project} Deepti Makes A Pop-Up Card

Hello friends! Deepti here and today I attempted something very different. While I was working on my Spotlight projects I was kind of losing my mojo. Nothing I thought worked out like I wanted. I tore 2 -3 projects before getting to this :) Yep! I do that, if I don't like a project... it goes straight to trash :D My previous projects involved stamping, so I decided to turn my thinking towards die cutting and that worked perfectly to my liking. I made a clean and simple pop up card using just two dies Circles All Over Texture Cover Plate and Flutter Zen 2 Layering Dies. Let me show you...

Step 1 - I took a white panel and die cut that using the texture plate. I just love the new texture plates :)

Step 2 - I cut out a butterfly from this white panel

Step 3 - I then die cut a few butterflies from patterned paper, one to inlay on the front panel and rest to make the pop up part of the card. I have been hoarding this patterned paper pad for ages ;)

Step 4 - For my front panel I cut out the intricate butterfly to add a little pretty :)

Step 5 - I used 5 butterflies for the pop up, odd numbers work best. First I scored them in the middle. One butterfly makes for the center that aligns with the fold of the card and 2 on each side make the pop up complete. So I simply glued the butterflies at one point, outside corner of the right wing of the first butterfly to outside top corner of the left wing of the next butterfly and so on.

Step 6 - I glued the left most butterfly on the left panel and right most on the right and that's it. All done!

I decided not to add the sentiment. I can add that later when I decide for which occasion I might use it :)
Here is a close up into my card...

I used Circles All Over Texture Cover Plate and Flutter Zen 2 Layering Dies.

That finishes my spotlight feature :) I hope you enjoyed it and will give this a try.
Happy paper crafting!
