CASEplorations April

Have you been fooled already today? Happy 1st of April! Get outta town. What'd they do with March? Winter? Spring? My corner of Germany still doesn't know, but oh well. Nothing I can do about it. How about I show you a clean and colorful card for your CASEing pleasure this month?

Have you noticed feathers trending lately? Cards. T-shirts. Linens. Everywhere. Well I've chosen one of my favorite feather cards of all time and it comes to you today from Hawaii. Aloha.

It's from the incredibly talented wahine, Donna Mikasa of three umbrellas fame. You probably know Donna from the CASe this Sketch challenge or the My Favorite Things design team. She can color. And she rocks die cuts. But the Donna creations I love the most are those featuring Distress Inks, whether as a background or for coloring. Donna rocks those colors! And her designs are always perfectly balanced, just like in today's card. Mahalo for joining us this month, Donna!

So much to choose from on this colorful beauty. A group of five. Rainbow colors. Feathers. Splatters. Black and white. A non-white cardbase. Donna's card certainly inspired the DT. Take a look at what Donna and they have come up with and then join us with your CASE, won't you?

Donna chose to go with leaves rather than feathers this time around, but still using color boldly. She's replaced the splatters with enamel dots and put her sentiment directly onto the gray cardbase.

BTW, thinking it might be Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!, I asked Donna:
What's your favorite movie and why?
"My favorite movie is Out of Africa. It has everything--romance, great cinematography, wonderful soundtrack.....and Robert Redford!"
OK, no argument there ;)

Hope you are inspired to join us. We look forward to seeing your projects in the gallery below. You can read the challenge rules here. The linky is open until the end of the day April 30th.

Just to remind you, we vote for a winner to receive a $15 gift certificate to the STAMPlorations store OR a 3x5 stamp set and two runners up to receive a $5 gift certificate from the entries in the gallery CASEing this month's card. We sure enjoy perusing all of your lovely creations.
