{Stencil Sunday} Terri Creates Wall Art and A Gelli Plate Print

Welcome to our Stencil Sunday reboot! On the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sunday of the month, the STAMPgirls will be sharing with you their projects that show off how to creatively use ARTplorations stencils.

Kicking off this fantastic feature is STAMPgirl Terri with two gorgeous non-card makes. And each month, we'll be picking one winner of a $15 gift code -- the winner will be drawn from all comments left on the Stencil Sunday posts for the month, as well as from the designers' blogs.

So here's Terri with her projects:

For my first project, I created a piece of wall art.

I used the Bloomdala Bliss #9 mask to create the base layer of my project, using 3 colours of distress oxide inks.

I like to use masks to create pieces to fussy cut. The sentiment was created by drawing around the Inspire mask and colouring it with spray inks. The doodles in black fine liner add contrast to the soft stencilled images.

My second project is a Gelli plate print that I've added stencilled details to.

Using stencils with a gelli plate is a great way to add layers to your design. I also use stencils over the top of my prints to add even more depth to the design.

For the hearts on the lady's top I used the Hearts All Over mini stencil twice, first in pink and then in a beige but slightly off set, this created a drop shadow effect. I also added white highlights to the hearts to bring them to life.

Lovely art pieces and wonderful use of stencils, don't you think? If you want a chance to win a $15 gift code to the STAMPlorations store, leave a comment here and on Terri's blog by April 5. We'll announce the winner in the March winners post on April 10.

Did you enjoy today's featured post? Stencil Sunday will be back next week with 4 projects from STAMPgirl Nancy!
