{Spotlight Project} Maria Color Blocks With Stencils

Hello there STAMP friends!  It's been a while, but I've got a spotlight tutorial for a card I made with the stamp club stamp set, Bloomdala Bliss and lots of stenciling fun.

STEP 1
Gather supplies - Distress Oxide inks, Bloomdala Bliss stamp set, mini stencils (their smaller scale designs work well for this), white cardstock, sponge daubers (didn't use) and makeup brush.

STEP 2
Decide on which color to go where just by shuffling around the ink pads til the arrangement pleases your eye!

STEP 3
Tape cardbase (top folding opened flat) to mat, masking off about 1/4" around all the edges. Then with a pencil mark an X in the middle of the white area.

STEP 4
Using that X, mask off the upper left quadrant before applying Tattered Rose DOX.

STEP 5
Put down Oh My Stars Mini stencil and apply another layer of Tattered Rose over it to end up with a fabulous, velvety tone-on-tone result.

STEP 6
Move the masks. In the upper right quadrant apply Worn Lipstick. Add another layer over the Old Rose Prints Mini stencil. Repeat the process using Candied Apple and Leaf Prints Mini in the lower left and Aged Mahogany and Just Squares Mini in the lower right. Then carefully (at a 45 degree angle) pull up the tape from around the edges. TIP: To clean it, brush off excess ink from your makeup brush onto scrap paper when you're done.

STEP 7
Ready for the best step? Admire your work!

I finished up the card by adding one heat embossed image from Bloomdala Bliss to the center with a delightful tiny sentiment. Hope you enjoyed today's tutorial as much as I enjoyed making it.
