{Spotlight Project} Shirley Makes Christmas Cards From Art Marks 2

Hi peeps! I got some new STAMPlorations stash recently, namely Art Marks 2 and Joy. As I sat there looking at the two sets side by side, I started to see how I could use some of the images in Art Marks 2 for Christmas cards.

Take a look at the set. The first thing I saw was Christmas trees.

I started by stamping the words from Joy in grey.

I lined up one row, then eyeballed another row above, and two more rows below, offsetting the words.

Then I stamped the two 'tree' images using a combination of Forest Moss and Pine Needles (my go-to combo for Christmas trees).

When you spritz the ink it allows the two colours to merge. I used part of another image for the trunk.

I thought the circle image would make a great bauble, although I must admit it brings to mind a wrecking ball :)

It looked better once I'd coloured in the words at the top. I'll probably add a little bow to make it more baubly.

The squiggly blocks looked like presents.

I inked the reverse of the images with a pale colour, then turned the stamps the right way round and stamped them with a coordinating darker colour. I drew some string and bows around each parcel. This arrangement needed the solid word, and the 'merry' balances the arrangement.

I think I'm going to have loads more fun with both of these sets!
