{Mixed Media Tutorial} Inspired by the New CRAFTplorations Line

Welcome to my last Mixed Media Tutorial for STAMPlorations.
Have you checked out the new and exciting products that were
recently available in store? If not Check it out HERE

I was so excited to see these new items and gave me the idea to
make my mixed media project with them in mind,
giving you a head ups on one way of using them in a different way.
I have however not used these Artist Trading Cards
as they haven't landed in my mailbox yet - but they will.

Start your project by adding gesso to your base and
once dry start adding colour. I used Tim's Distress Spray
in Broken China, Magical's Clam Bake Beige and
a made up spray with Art Alchemy Deep Water Mica Powder.

Add a bright colour to the edges.
I used Canna Lily Burnt Orange Magical's and let run.
Time to work on the ATC's starting with gesso and
my love of crackle came in here using
Dreamweaver Crackle Paste, leaving overnight to do its magic.

Ink the edges the same as the background and
highlight the crackle with Tim's Vintage Photo.

Stencil the background edges and the ATC's with the
Barley stencil withVintage Photo Oxide and the
Leaves 2 stencil with Distress Broken China.
Time to ink up the Artful Flutters Butterflies.
As they were going to be stamped on already textured board
I used VersaFine Clair Warm Breeze
as I knew it would stamp well.

They were then inked on coloured paper and fussy cut
adding Nuvo Stone Drops in Lady Liberty.

To add interest add some of your favourite elements.
I inked cheesecloth with the above colours
Tumbled Glass Distress Glitter
and ART Alchemy Art Stones. Once the stones were dry
I then sponged them up with Vintage Photo Ink.

After I adhered the fussy cut butterflies
I thought something was missing
and that is when I decided the corner needed a lift.
Being extra careful how I applied the
Little Birdie Aquatini Embossing Texture Paste -
happy it came up nicely.
Below is a before and after the heat embossing.
#Note I haven't heat embossed it completely. I wanted
to get a variegated look.

Finish off your Mixed Media board by adding sentiments.
I chose mine from the Artful Flutters Set
but any sentiment would suit.

I am undecided whether to frame it or
hang it with twine to match the barley colours!

Thanks to all those that have left lovely comments
on my previous MM makes. I so enjoyed the time taken
to share several different ways you can use the
great products from STAMPlorations.
