{Mixed Media Tutorial} MariLynn's Bible Journaling Page

Happy Friday, STAMPlorations friends! Today we have a mixed media tutorial from STAMPgirl MariLynn DeGroot. Make sure you comment on this post for a chance at a $15 prize code. Every month, we draw 7 winners, with the winners randomly drawn from all posts published during the month. The more posts you comment on, the more chances you have.

This is MariLynn. I am excited to share a page I made in my bible journal. I started by writing Romans 8:35-39 with gel sticks. I sprayed them with water until they started to blur. I like the idea that even though you won't be able to read the words at the end that they are there. This would be a good technique for journaling private thoughts that you wanted to write but didn't want to share.

I then used 3 different ARTplorations slimline stencils (Strung LightsCircle OverlapFanned). I used these three stencils and two different sized gel presses and acrylic paint to add layers. I then used the Almost Tetris slimline stencil with Aleene's Tacky Glue to add guilding flakes to the page. I finished it off by going around the edges with a marker, drawing a heart with a cross, and writing the sentiment and scripture that was hidden's location.

I made a video showing the steps I made to make my page. I hope you enjoy.

  • 3x5 and 5x7 gel press
