{Spotlight Project} Maria Takes A Texture Cover Plate Up A Notch

Hello there STAMP friends! I have an idea for you if you'd like to stretch your stash a bit. Do you have one of those cool cover plate dies which impresses an image into a piece of cardstock? I was inspired by Elisabeth's cool card and created a similar look.

STEP 1
Gather supplies - Cardstock, cover plate texture die, circle die the size of the circles on the cover plate die, some form of sentiment (mine is a word die), backgrounds (mine are gelli prints) from your stash. TIP: Try this with a cardstock panel dry embossed with an embossing folder instead of a cover plate if you don't have one.

STEP 2
Run the cover plate through your machine to get the panel.

STEP 3
Determine placement of your sentiment and then mark the circles you want to die cut with the little circle die. Die cut the circles from the panel. Look at the little pile of die cuts and wonder what you're going to do with them (of course I didn't let them go to waste.)

STEP 4

Lay the die cut panel over various backgrounds to see which you like best. I decided to try to go more masculine. I wonder which one you would have chosen?
STEP 5

Adhere your selected background to the cardbase. TIP: I hold my cardbase with the print on top of it up to a light to see where to position the print. My prints are on copy paper so I can sort of see the outline of the cardbase through the print.

STEP 6
Put adhesive on the back of the panel then adhere it over the background.

I finished it off with the die cut "you" partially heat embossed with silver and a little "thinking of you" mounted over it. Here's a close-up. Fun, eh?

I hope I've inspired you to try something different with your cover plate dies. Should you find yourself placing an order anytime soon, I'd love it if you used my STAMPGIRLMARIA code for an additional 20% off your order.
