Paper Goods Showcase | Newsprint Autumn Ephemera Tiles with Stephanie

Fall may still be a little way off on the calendar, but that hasn't stopped STAMPgirl Stephanie from bringing some autumn color to her cards. For these two projects, she used the Newsprint Autumn Ephemera Tiles in two different ways, showing just how much you can do with a single sheet of paper goods.

Turn One Sheet into Six Card Elements

For her first card, Stephanie cut the Newsprint Autumn Ephemera Tiles into six individual pieces and matted each one before arranging them across a kraft card front. The collection of autumn images and newsprint details creates an instant collage without needing to build each little element from scratch.

For the sentiment, Stephanie stamped one of the sentiments from the Words Of Gratitude stamp set with VersaFine Vintage Sepia ink, then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. She die cut the sentiment with a Stitched Tags die, added twine, and popped the tag up over the ephemera tiles. The result feels like a little collection of autumn snapshots, with the raised sentiment tag bringing everything together.

Cut the Paper Goods into Something Different

Stephanie's second card takes the same Newsprint Autumn Ephemera Tiles in a very different direction. Instead of using the tiles as individual pieces, she die cut the entire sheet with two Zen Coffee Cup dies. She mounted the patterned coffee cups onto solid die-cut coffee cups in coordinating cardstock, then arranged them on an ivory card base. A few adhesive-backed dots add simple accents, while a foam-backed Cheers word die provides the finishing sentiment.

I particularly love seeing the ephemera tiles used this way. You don't have to use a paper goods sheet exactly as it comes. Die cutting it can turn the artwork into something entirely new.

One Sheet, More Possibilities

These two cards are a great example of the flexibility of paper goods. Stephanie used the same Newsprint Autumn Ephemera Tiles for both projects, but the first card treats the pieces as ready-made collage elements while the second transforms the entire sheet into die-cut shapes.
