{Mixed Media Tutorial} Life is a Journey Art Journal by Asmah

Hi everyone! It's me Asmah is here again with an easy mixed media tutorial.
I did an art journal in a shopping paper bag mini album. I still have a few pages left to complete the album. This is the recent make and hopefully you will like it.

Let's get started.

I swiped homemade texture paste through the Crisscrossed stencil to create random pattern in my paper bag art journal mini album. I also blended in red color into the texture paste and build up the design via similar stencil and leave as is.

I decided to use watercolor gel pastels to color the background and blend in with water.

I wanted another pattern on the corners so I color in black watercolor gel pastel through the Gridlocked stencil. I blended the ink with water and also used my finger to brush it up a little.

The sentiment was created using words from BOLD SENTIMENTS: Journey stamp set. I stamped them down with Versafine ink pad then I highlighted the word Journey with white watercolor.

I stamped down Blossom Like A Butterfly stamp on white card stock and cut it out neatly. Then I glue down above the sentiment and give her some yellow color with white highlight around the flying creature for additional interest.

For extra dimension, I used the circle design from Artsy Border Maker stamp set to stamp the pattern at the edge of the page. Lastly I added a handmade lollipop circle to feast the eyes. If you look closely, you may find a heart shape somewhere in the page. Can you spot it? Let me know in the comment below {smile}.

I hope you like my artwork this time and may it inspire you to create yours.
I shall see you again next month. Happy creating.

Hugs and smiles,
