{Mixed Media Tutorial} Happy Spring Coffee Tag by Helen

Hello everyone... Helen here today. Spring is one of my favorite seasons... Today's mixed media tag is inspired by this season, the flowers, and some coffee and donuts, too :D

Let's get started... You will need heavyweight cardstock to create this mixed media tag. I used Canson watercolor paper 140# and cut it out using the largest size of the Luggage Tags Nesting Dies with my Gemini Jr. machine.

I added some thin layer of white acrylic paint, and then using make up sponge I added some of the black acrylic paint with the Crisscrossed stencil. Once the acrylic paint dried, I coated it with thin layer of white gesso and flat brush.

I added some of green and white acrylic paints using the Leaf Prints mini stencil and make up sponge. I let it dry using craft heater. When you use craft heater to dry the paint, be careful not to over heat it so the paint won't be bubbly.

When the paint is dried, it is ready for some stamping. Randomly, I stamped the circle wood slice image from the Wooded stamp set with Memento Luxe Ink Pad. I dried the stamped images with craft heater.

Next step, I added some splatters on the tag using the Cocoa Marabu Mixed Media Art Spray. Then dried it again with craft heater.

I stamped the basket image from the Bloomin' Spring Coffee Basket stamp set with VersaFine Onyx Black on a watercolor paper. Then, I colored it with Arteza Woodless Watercolor Pencils and waterbrush.

I dried the watercolored image and then I fussy cut it with micro-tip scissors. I added the basket on the tag with permament adhesive glue. For the sentiment, I stamped it on a white cardstock with Orange Blossom Archival Mini Ink Pad and then I fussy cut it with micro-tip scissors. I added the sentiment on the tag with 3D foam tape.
