Happy Sunday, STAMPlorations friends! We have a new batch of stencil inspiration today. You'll get to see projects that show off how to creatively use ARTplorations stencils. And each month, we'll pick one winner of a $15 gift code -- the winner will be drawn from all comments left on the Stencil Sunday posts for the month, as well as from the designers' blogs.
STAMPgirl Shirley created cards with stunning backgrounds.
Have a look at Shirley's projects:
I used powdered dye inks that have walnut stain mixed in, so you get a grungy colour mix as the powders mingle.
The car from Enjoy The Ride is watercoloured using matching colours. The sentiment is from Balloons and Banners.
*****
The butterfly (Layered Butterflies) for this second card was already in my stash, and it went perfectly with this background. And the sentiment is from Feathery.
*****
The other two cards are made using Honeycomb Delight stencil and powders in red and yellow. The bird from For The Birds was already in my stash, and the blue helps to add extra colour contrast.
I applied Distress Ink direct to the Helenium Large flower then dragged the colour with a wet brush after stamping, then fussy cut it. The sentiment is from Trendy Feathers 2.
*****
For my final card I used a diecut Flutter Zen 2 butterfly which I watercoloured with colours that matched the background. The butterfly needed to be quite plain in order to stand out against the background.
Another sentiment from Trendy Feathers 2 completes the card.

Shirley knows how to make show-stopping, stunning backgrounds! For a chance to win a $15 gift code to the STAMPlorations store, leave a comment here and on Shirley's blog by April 8. We'll announce the winner in the March winners post on April 10.
