{Stencil Sunday} Simple Ways to Use Stencils to Create Stunning Cards

Happy Sunday, STAMPlorations friends! We hope you've adjusted to the new normal so many of us are experiencing at this time. It's time for a new batch of stencil inspiration. You'll get to see projects that show off how to creatively use ARTplorations stencils. And each month, we'll pick one winner of a $15 gift code -- the winner will be drawn from all comments left on the Stencil Sunday posts for the month, as well as from the designers' blogs.

STAMPgirl Carol created two stunning cards using simple techniques.

Here's Carol with her cards:

Hello, Carol here, warmly welcoming you to my third Stencil Sunday post where, once again, I'm sharing some simple ways to play with the wonderful array of ARTplorations stencils.

Both cards see me using stencils in the fashion I enjoy most: stars-of-the-stage with an accompanying sentiment that, in the first case, is set within a circle cut-out and, in the second, on a small panel, foam-adhered for dimension. The first card uses ink; the second, foiling.

Card #1

Because the Frayed Burlap is a bit dark, I used it sparingly.

Card #2
Leaf Prints, Emerald Watercolour Deco Foil, Thank You Coffee

Foiling!! Emerald Watercolout Deco Foil...swoon...and perfect for leaves, which is my stencil of choice for this card. The difference between this card and the two in my previous Stencil Sunday is that I used my laminator for this version, just to see if I could discern a difference between this and using my die-cutting machine. My conclusion: the foils adhered wonderfully regardless of the device selected, although I would say the 'smoothness' of coverage is a bit better with the laminator.

The shimmer/shades of this foil are absolutely lovely!

No matter how you use stencils - inked or foiled; a features on your card or as 'embellishments' - the results can be sensational! Hopefully, the two cards here have sparked some inspiration for ways to use your stencils.

Stencils sure help make cards with fab backgrounds, right? For a chance to win a $15 gift code to the STAMPlorations store, leave a comment here and on Carol's blog by June 8. We'll announce the winner in the May winners post on June 10.

Did you enjoy today's featured post? Carol will be back in two weeks for two more awesome projects.
