{Spotlight Project} Maria Uses Ephemera To Mass Produce CAS Christmas cards

Hello STAMP friends! Hope you're not sick of me and my ephemera yet. It's just such fun to let the cute pieces do the heavy lifting while you just add a little here and there. Ready for some super CAS versions? First I must apologize, the card pictured is not the card made in the tutorial. I ran out of good natural light for photos. But the concept is totally the same. Please come by my blog  for the rest of the lineup - I had 8 pieces of ephemera to use up ;) So this tutorial covers the production line approach to making these clean and simple cards. Shall we get to it?

STEP 1
Gather supplies -Ephemera, playful image and sentiment stamps to complement the playful style of the ephemera, ink colors to complement the ephemera, white card bases, black cardstock scraps, white embossing powder.

I must admit I didn't know exactly where I was going with this to begin with. I just knew I wanted CAS. And to use up the pictured ephemera pieces (I still need some more cards to send this year).

STEP 2
To ease into things, I decided to start by heat embossing some sentiments onto scrap and then snip them apart.

STEP 3
Assign each ephemera a sentiment.

STEP 4
Figure out your design. My goal was to have the same design to accommodate all pieces of ephemera following the rule of 3 - sentiment, image, ephemera in a bit of a triangle. Select and place the image stamps and your ephemera on a cardbase. Choose a sentiment to go with the heat embossed snippet. BTW, I did stamp surgery on the This Christmas sentiment to get the word Christmas alone. TIP: Use your MISTI to lay everything out.

STEP 5
Remove everything but the stamps and pick them up on your MISTI door. Now you're ready to go with the CAS Christmas card production line. Only decision left to make is ink color for stamping. And placement in the case of a couple of smaller ephemera pieces.

As I mentioned at the beginning, I had 8 cards to make. Please check out my blog tomorrow for photos of the whole lot including this tin soldier. It felt so good to create so many cards in a relatively short period of time. I'm usually a one card - two hours kinda gal ;)

I hope I've given you another idea for quick but fun Christmas cards using ephemera. It's my hope that you enjoy this wonderful season and stay healthy. As always, I'd appreciate it if you should you place an order in the shop if you'd use my STAMPGIRLMARIA code for an additional 20% off at no extra cost to you.
