Bi-Weekly Sketch Challenge #18

Welcome to our 18th bi-weekly sketch challenge! Here’s the sketch for the next couple of weeks. It’s open to interpretation. Feel free to change the orientation of the sketch, use different shapes, add other elements to suit the type of paper craft you’re making, and so on — just make sure the sketch is recognizable in your submission(s). You can use stamps by other companies to create projects that you enter to our challenges, although if you have STAMPlorations stamps in your stash, we'd be tickled if you use them!

PRIZE
The sketch challenges are sponsored by our sister shop, All About Scrapping. The winner gets to pick 3 DIGITAL products from the shop — any combination of printable sheetsPhotoshop templates, and digital paper packs. The winner will also be invited to be a Guest Designer in next month's sketch challenge.

A TWIST IN OUR CHALLENGES
Participate in all 3 challenges we host this month and you'll be in the running to win this prize package courtesy of All About Scrapping.

INSPIRATION PROJECTS
Our guest designer is another familiar face: Carol Mayne, who was our sketch challenge #15 winner. We're so glad she's guest designing again and sharing her super-fun and beautiful project!

Guest Designer
"Hello , I’m Carol (aka *c*) from Just me: c, joining you from my small town at the edge of the scenic Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada. I’ve dabbled in various crafts over the years – cross-stitch, knitting (I can knit one-purl two, but want to ‘advance’ to  knitting in the round), and long ago, painting on wood. My journey into cards began two years ago, when I decided to make and send Happy Month Old cards to my niece, who was 2 at the time (she’s now 4 ½ and my nephew 2 ½ - and yes, the card ‘tradition’ continues). The ‘mess’ of my first attempt sent me searching the internet for ideas; like many of us, that initial step and the discoveries revealed sparked a ‘passion’ and here I am, thoroughly immersed in crafting with paper, stamps, inks and dies. When I’m not at my ‘craft counter’ or at work, I’m usually found at road, mountain or cyclocross bike races throughout our province, with stop watch and clipboard in hand, in my role as a racing official, or in the feed zone as #1 fan and support for my husband, passing water-bottles to him and cheering when he competes. My card style is still evolving – and playing with STAMPloration stamps has certainly broadened my desire to try new techniques. Mixed media is on my ‘must do’ agenda. I’m honoured and delighted to share my sketch-inspired card alongside the dazzling delights created by the incredibly talented STAMPlorations’ team. Thank you for inviting me!"
And here are the inspiration projects by the STAMPlorations design team.

READY TO PLAY?
  • Create a new project -- card, tag, mini album/scrapbook cover, layout, home decor item, or any paper craft -- on ANY THEME using the sketch as your guide. Any style is welcome — CAS, shabby chic, vintage, grunge, and so on. Post your creation on your blog and submit it by 11:55 p.m. PDT on Friday, August 29. Don’t have a blog? You can post a photo of your project on your Pinterest page, Flickr, or any public online gallery.
  • You must use stamps (rubber, cling, clear, digi — from any company) in your creation(s).
  • Copy the link of your blog entry where you have your project posted and enter it to the linky found at the end of this post. Remember to link directly to your blog post, not just your blog URL. (This will make it easy for us to find your submission and leave a comment. Please turn off word verification as well.)
  • Please include a text link back to this post in your blog post, as well as display the sketch, to encourage other paper crafters to participate.
  • You can submit up to 3 entries for this challenge.
  • You can submit your creation(s) to other challenges — as many as you want — except to other sketch challenges for obvious reasons!
  • Be a follower of our blog to qualify for the prize.
  • And lastly, have a great time creating your project! :-)

We’ll announce the winner and top picks on Sunday, August 31, here on the STAMPlorations™ blog and on the All About Scrapping page on Facebook. That’s it…we look forward to seeing what you create!
