Hello Crafty Friends! It's Monika here today, and I am ringing in the week with a tutorial for a light and fresh canvas. Here it is:
Are You Cerise or feeling A Bit Jaded after the weekend, than this is the place to be! The Two Feathers and a Smile are bound to lighten your day plus it is a project even novices could try.
Step 1 - place the Two Feathers ARTplorations Mask on a gesso primed canvas (12" x !0" approx 30.5cm x 24.4cm)
Step 2 - sprinkle with Are You Cerise and A Bit Jaded Infusions Stains powders, you only need a little as you can see from the close-up
Step 3 - spritz with water
Step 4 - remove mask and allow to dry
I had spritzed quite liberally with water hence the feathers didn't fully show.
Step 5 - add a thin coat of gesso over the central area and whilst still damp, place the mask on top slightly offset from the original position;
sprinkle again with Infusion Stains and lightly spritz with water
Step 6 - remove mask and allow to dry before adding the die-cut Smile
TIP!: The thin coat of gesso after the first layer of stains will blend the colours a little and you'll loose some of the texture, but it also prevents the second layer of stains blending with the first one as you can see from the close-up below. The cerise sits nicely on top of the jaded.
