Hello, friends!
Deepti here and welcome to another spotlight feature. I wanted to go with a traditional tribal look. So, here's what I created...
STEP 1
I picked some of the smaller stamps from this set and based on their size, I decided on the size of flat brushes I would use. I then created horizontal stripes of varying thickness in different colors using watercolors. I was not worried about making them straight.
STEP 2
Next I stamped the tribal stamp images on these stripes using Archival Jet black ink, creating a pattern. I also diecut this panel with the stitched rectangle die.
STEP 3
I then used the reindeer stencil and sponged the reindeer with black ink and while sponging I ended up smudging some ink :( Now the struggle to hide this began LOL. Normally, I would trash it and redo but these days with my little one taking all of my time, I tend to work the most in minimum time :)
STEP 4
So here's what I did to hide the ink. I diecut the black card stock for the base and a frame of white, I fussy cut a burlap banner and took a clothespin to embellish it. I was not satisfied with the white frame so I cut out a black frame and assembled the pieces along with a diecut
thanks sentiment to finish my card :)
Here is a closeup...
I have used Artsy Tribal Doodles, the August 2016 Stamp Club set, CUTplorations Crazy Double Running stiche Rectangles Nesting Dies, Thanks word die and Christmas Reindeer Artplorations stencil
That finishes my spotlight feature :) I hope you enjoyed it and will give this a try. Happy paper crafting!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to combine the stamps and stencils and I love the tribal look!
ReplyDeleteThis card is awesome! Great hiding to the smudge too. I've been there before. :)
ReplyDeleteThese designs make some really fun patterns! Love the striped background!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card! I love the way it looks and it was so simple to create. One of my mentors always said, there are no mistakes only opportunities to embellish. I love how you did just that! The frame with the clipped piece of burlap is ingenious!
