{Mixed Media Tutorial} Fun with Acetate and Alcohol Inks by Amy

Good afternoon, Amy here, and I have a cool way to use the Trendy Birds 2 and Trendy Feathers 2 Sets with alcohol inks on acetate to make a fun wall hanging.

Here's my process:

I started with a thick acetate tag- peel off the blue plastic protector sheet.

Dab 2 different alcohol inks onto your felt dauber tool and pounce around the tag and let dry.

Stamp the Trendy Bird with Archival Ink on the same side of the tag with the alcohol Ink and let dry.

While it's drying cut a piece of heavy cardstock, the same size as your tag

Take your cut cardstock and use Distress Inks in colors to match your alcohol inks with the Stained Glass Stencil and set aside.

Now that it's dry, take a paper towel and rub off the area with the Archival Ink. This will leave a faint design with a hint of the alcohol ink peeking thru. :o)

Stamp a sentiment from the Trendy Birds 2 on the other side of the tag as this is now the tag front and let dry.

Stamp 2 feathers from Trendy Feathers 2 with Versamark and heat emboss with colors to match your alcohols inks, I used teal and brown. Fussy cut out and use a 1/8' hole punch on stems.

Attach the feathers with metal fasteners & chains (I used some metal fasteners from Tim Holtz). Finish with some seam binding dyed with brown and teal (or colors to match your alcohol inks)

Here's a closer look:

Here's card I did using the same technique and the Trendy Birds 2 set.

With the bold colors you can see the colors shine thru after rubbing off the Archival Ink. :o)
