Hi STAMPlorations friends! It's been a while. Did you enjoy our big birthday bash last month? We certainly enjoyed seeing all your great CASEs. Maybe you'll even be one of the lucky party winners! And if you're in North America, hope you enjoyed your Canada Day and 4th of July too!
I'm here today to show you how I made this all occasion card with some stamping and some die cutting a bit more interesting with bold Copic coloring and multi-colored heat embossing.
STEP 1
Gathered my supplies -
Succulently stamps and dies, cardstock with matching embossing powder, markers (Copics pictured though I later opted for Zigs).
STEP 2
Laid out my design, knowing I would mount the cactus on the large circle and the sentiment on the smaller and chose the circle sizes.
STEP 3
Since I wanted multiple colors for my heat-embossed sentiment to add more interest, I covered the upper and lower parts of the stamp with cellophane tape, inked with Versamark, removed the tape and then stamped. I used a stiff-bristled brush to remove the stray powder and heat set.
Then I put tape over "fancactus", inked with Versamark... In the last photo you can see that some of the white powder stuck to the outer edges of "fancactus". I could have brushed that off, but decided I liked the look! Heat set it. When all was cooled down, I die cut the sentiment.
STEP 4
Stamped the cactus and chose three bold colors for the vase to add more interest and two greens for the cactus.
STEP 5
TIP: Leave your stamp on your stamp positioner and when you're done coloring, stamp the black outline again for super crispness. I die cut the cactus.
STEP 6
Adhered one circle flat, one with slim adhesive and the cactus with foam pads. Added washi along the bottom and three black gems.
Thanks for coming by today. Even though it's summer break time here on the blog, we'll have a few Spotlight projects throughout the summer. Should you try out any of the techniques from our Spotlight posts, like multi-color heat embossing, be sure to hook up at our
