{Stencil Sunday} Stenciling on Beautiful Backgrounds by Sue

Happy Sunday, STAMPlorations friends! It's time for another helping of stencil inspiration this month. You'll get to see projects that show off how to creatively use ARTplorations stencils. And each month, we'll pick one winner of a $15 gift code -- the winner will be drawn from all comments left on the Stencil Sunday posts for the month, as well as from the designers' blogs.

STAMPgirl Sue used stencils over beautifully blended backgrounds to create her cards.

Here's Sue with her projects:

I started this card by creating the background by applying distress inks (salty ocean, twisted citron, mowed lawn, candied apple, wilted violet) randomly with an ink blending tool to cover an A2 card panel. I let the panel dry completely. I then covered the panel using an embossing buddy to prepare the panel for heat embossing. I covered the panel with the Art Flowers 1 stencil and used Versamark ink and clear embossing powder. I heat embossed the image. For the sentiment, I used a scrap of lime green cardstock and adhered the sticker sentiment. I cut it into a fish tail banner and popped it up with dimensionals.

For this card, I started with a 3" circle mask cut from a repositionable label adhered to an A2 white card base. I added distress inks (mustard seed, spiced marmalade, festive berries, picked raspberry, faded jeans, chipped sapphire) trying to replicate the colours of a sunset. I then used the Bloom Silhouettes stencil and black soot distress ink, applied with an ink dauber to add the blooms. I carefully removed the mask. For the sentiment, I used a clear sticker applied directly to the A2 white card base.

Those cards are stunning, right?? For a chance to win a $15 gift code to the STAMPlorations store, leave a comment here and on Sue's blog by March 8. We'll announce the winner in the February winners post on March 10.

Did you enjoy today's featured post? Sue will be back next month for more stencil inspiration.
