{Spotlight Project} Becca Makes Artsy Blooms

I love stamp sets that let you create funky things with abstract shapes, so when I first laid eyes on the new stamp club set, Artsy Tribal Doodles, I knew it was going to be a match made in heaven.

When I was looking at the shapes, I immediately decided I just HAD to make some flowers from the circular designs.

I started by taking 3 of the circular shapes and stamping them in different shades of Distress inks. Specifically, I stamped in Carved Pumpkin, Ripe Persimmon, and Abandoned Coral.

Next, I colored in the centers with some Spectrum Noir markers.

I added some enamel dots for interest to the center and then drew on some stems and leaves using a Faber Castell Big Brush Artist Pen.

I added on a black outline and some faux stitchwork using a black pen.

I backed the focal image with orange, added a sentiment from the Gone Postal set and backed it all with a frame made using the largest die from the Crazy Double Running Stitch Nesting Dies.

What kind of fun things can YOU create with an abstract stamp? If you want to try this idea, make sure to link up to our Spotlight Gallery where you also have a chance to win some STAMPlorations goodies!
