{Mixed Media Tutorial} Find the Beautiful Art Journal Page by Tanja

Hi there, it's Tanja here and today I would like to show you how to create this Art Journal Page step by step. The color combination is really out of my comfort zone but I quite like the result and I hope you try using bold color choices as well.

• cover an art journal page with white gesso
• adhere some torn strips of a paper bag with gel medium
• add a second layer of white gesso

• use petroleum jelly to create areas that resist the acrylic paint
• add some color with the help of Golden Acrylic Paints (Green Gold, Transparent Red Iron Oxide, Carbon Black)

• darken the edges with a Distress Crayon (Black Soot)
• add some more of the green with a Distress Crayon (Twisted Citron)

• use some Golden Acrylic Paint (Iridescent Bronze) for some metallic highlights

• apply some Versamark through the ARTplorations Abstract Oats stencil and heat-emboss these areas with WOW! Mayan Glintz embossing powder
• add some white acrylic paint through that same stencil as well
• the sentiment is a sticker from the Tim Holtz Small Talk sticker set
