{Spotlight Project} Sue and the Birds and the Blooms
[Note: This month, we have several STAMPlorations girls guest designing and joining the regular Spotlight Project girls and sharing more awesome step-by-step projects that feature our 5x7 stamp club sets. We hope you get even more inspired!]
Greetings! It's Sue and I have a new card using The Birds and the Blooms stamp set. Here's my card
I started by stamping the hummingbird using Versafine Onyx Black ink stamped onto 96 lb bristol using my MISTI to ensure a good stamped image.
I added color and shimmer to the hummingbird using Gansai Tambi Pearl Colors water-based pigment inks and a water brush.
I love the shimmer you get using these inks. Here's a close-up of the hummingbird.
I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to add color to the flower and stem.
I trimmed the bristol to 3"x3". It seemed a bit too blah for me. I decided to add a bit of background color using an ink blending tool and Broken China distress ink.
I matted the panel with black cardstock to make it pop. I added the sentiment, from the same stamp set, aligning it in my MISTI.
Pop over to the STAMPlorations store to pick up The Birds and the Blooms or to check out all the stamps, dies and stencils. Be sure to use my code STAMPGIRLSUE to get 20% off your purchase.
