{Mixed Media Tutorial} Blue-Toned Butterfly Art Journal Page by Sanna
Hello lovelies, it's Sanna here again with another mixed media tutorial. This time I created an art journal page using various STAMPlorations stencils with acrylic paints.
Here is the finished piece:
It started off totally different as I wanted to play with color and stencils and just randomly added them onto the page. I build a focal point around the beautiful Trendy Butterfly 2 stamps and colored them with POSCA pens.
Then I felt that the background was too strong in color in combination with the butterflies, so I did a little trick and added two tones of blue acrylic paint onto the page leaving just tiny peeks into the original background visible thru the random circles. This way the butterflies stood out better from the background and the title/quote would be more visible also.
Here are some detail shots of the page and in the end you will find a start-to-finish video to watch! I hope you enjoy my tutorial and get inspired to play freely in your own art journal!!
and now to the video:
Have fun with your stamps and stencils - see you soon with another mixed media tutorial!
Happy stenciling!!!
