Hello creative souls! Welcome back to another tutorial by me,
Asmah. Today I'm showing you a simple way to use digi stamps in an art journal.
I used Loved/Spring Theme-Digital Stamps that you can download
here.
...Let's get started...
I tore a page from an old book and cut into several pieces. I mixed PVA glue with a bit of water to glue down the pieces on one page of a paper bag mini art journal album.
I applied gesso lightly at each creases so they look attach neatly together.
Once the gesso dried, I swiped modeling paste over
Swirly Blooms stencil to create patterns.
The fun part for me is always coloring process and blending in with different colors often brings the child out of me {smile}.
For this artwork, I decided to play with pink and two green shades of watercolors. Of course you can use whatever type of paints you prefer.
Another fun part I love is printing digital stamps in different sizes! One is slightly bigger than the actual one which I fussy cut neatly with a sharp pair of scissors. This awesome illustration by Shery Russ which she turns into digi stamp is high resolution (300dpi). Print size is 4" x 5.25" (5.25" by 4" landscape). You can re-size the images to suit your needs.
I adjusted the images for composition and glue down using PVA glue.
Lastly, I started coloring with watercolor paints using aqua brush and splash black paint over the finished art journal for interest.
Here's the finished art journal once again...
I sincerely hope you will find my tutorial helpful and may inspire you to fussy cut Shery's digi stamps and create your signature style creation(s). While you are it, why not join
