{Spotlight Project} Shirley Adds Signatures to a Travel Journal

Hey, peeps! Remember I made a travel journal last month? Well, now I've started to make signatures to go inside it.

A signature is the name for a little booklet that fits inside the journal. You can buy them, but they are very easy to make. I made mine from cartridge paper, which is 150 gsm or 90 lb depending on where you live. I cut four sheets 8"x7¾" and stitched them through the centres.

On the left side of one spread I stamped the little car from the Wanderlust set, then masked it while I stamped the trees from Houses Extras, and watercoloured them with Distress Inks.

On spare cartridge paper I stamped and watercoloured some of the images from the set, ready to cut into strips to mimic washi tape.

Having cut a strip, I doodled the edges to help define it, adhered it to the spread, then doodled a frame around the little scene on the left.

I used my go-to grunge stamps from Mixed Media Grunge along with the Shutters mini stencil for some background on the right page.

Here's a reminder of what the travel journal looks like.

The journal can accommodate several signatures, so there's plenty space to add more :)

Spammers have been in full force lately so I had to turn comment moderation on. We love hearing from fellow crafters (not spammers), so your comment will be approved as soon as possible. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with us :o)
